Most presumably around 1970 in Bengal during Siddharth period, Congress was deciding in Kolkata around then Kali Puja was in power. A few major Kali Pujas in Kolkata were coordinated by Congress pioneers. . So it is obviously that there was compulsion for membership.

This is the way some splendid kind kid showed up at the place of a liberal chief to gather gifts for a Kali Puja. He was around seventy years of age. He was a MP from South Kolkata from 1967 to 1971. He lost to 26-year-old Priyaranjan in the South Kolkata seat in the Lok Sabha appointment of 1971.
